About Us

Meet our Founder

Sarah Edwards

Our founder (licensed special education teacher, master’s in Special Education, and an Educational Specialist degree in leadership) has been working with learners from birth through high school, holds autism-studies training, is trained in both Barton and Wilson Reading Systems, and is currently advancing her studies with training in the Evidence Based Literacy Intervention program. She brings both professional expertise and personal understanding (as a parent of children with special needs), meaning we don’t just teach learners — we advocate for them.

Our Mission

To empower each student to reach their full potential — academically, socially and emotionally — through an inclusive, individualized education model that leaves no child behind.

Our Philosophy: We know that no two students are the same. Some learn differently, some have unique challenges, some crave a more flexible, hands-on approach.

Great Oaks Learning Academy - opening August 2026

For families looking for full time individualized education, GOL is opening GOL Academy, a 5-day full time private school for students who did not thrive in the traditional classroom setting. Low ratios of 1 staff member to every 5 students will ensure each student gets exactly what they need. Enrolling now for grades K-12.

Micro-School & Tutoring Options

Afternoon micro-school sessions for 2026-27, tutoring for K-12 (online or limited in-person), and specialized services like proof-of-progress evaluations and IEP/504 review
