Building a community of lifelong learners!
Learning is easier when you have an excellent teacher. Sarah has devoted the last 20 years to growing and learning, earning a Masters degree in Special Education, a certificate in Autism studies, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. She has worked under a Wilson Reading trainer and is currently working toward her Barton Reading certification.
Sarah's experience spans from birth-high school. A licensed special education teacher and mom to a son with special needs, she can help you advocate for your child as well as understand the jargon of IEPs and 504s. She will meet your child where they are and work from there to help them catch up and succeed in class.
Our mission is to embrace the pursuit of excellence both inside and outside the classroom. Whether you opt for in-person or online tutoring, each student will receive first-rate sessions, tailored specifically to their needs.

Sarah was my son's teacher. She is upbeat and interactive! She was able to get him engaged and excited to do various activities that he normally wasn't interested in such as painting and art work. She made everything fun and exciting! She is caring, patient, and very understanding of children's varying needs.

We really cannot say enough wonderful things about Sarah and Great Oaks Learning. Not only is our daughter making significant strides with reading, but she actually LOVES tutoring and looks forward to it everyday. This is really a testament to Sarah’s ability to make meaningful connections with her students and keep the material engaging. We feel so fortunate to have found Great Oaks Learning.

Sarah was incredible to us when she helped us out with our kiddo. We were uneasy at first with the program to which he was assigned, but when someone gave us a glowing review of Sarah (who we had yet to meet, but were told that Sarah would be in charge), it gave us the push we needed to try it out. And boy were they right about her! She has been a tremendous help for our son and so positive and down-to-earth approachable. Another great aspect of Sarah is that she really appreciates how hard it can be to be a parent in a situation like ours, because she has been there too. We can't say enough great things about her. We will treasure her always, and we're certain that anyone else would say the same.

It is my honor to recommend Sarah Edwards of Great Oaks Learning. I've been a professional educator for over 25 years and Sarah is one of the finest educators I've had the privilege to see in action. She is professional, caring, and highly qualified. She takes pride in her work and joy in interacting with her students.
As a parent who needed help with my child despite my own experience, I was overjoyed to find a tutor who was such a good fit. Sarah is the right mix of kind and empathetic, yet skillfully keeps the children on topic and on pace.
When I was looking for a reading program, the biggest hurdle was finding someone who would consider my child's unique needs and be willing to flex their program. In Sarah, we have that. She listened to my observations about the problem areas, got to know my child, and then made sure to meet our specific needs; she is teaching the child, not teaching the program.
I wholeheartedly encourage anyone needing specific tutoring or general educational guidance to contact Great Oaks.
Sincerely,
Jordana Luck, M. Ed
